FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Denver, CO – XX2i Optics, award winning performance sunglasses and polarized eyewear solutions, has partnered with Race Across America (RAAM) to become the Official Sunglass of the World’s Toughest Bicycle Race. All competitors participating in the 3,000 mile excursion will have access to XX2i’s award-winning lineup of shades which feature multiple styles, colors, lens configurations and 4K lens technology, perfect for any condition the cyclists may encounter on their journey.
"It takes an incredible amount of passion and dedication to complete something as ambitious as the Race Across America, and that’s precisely why we had to partner with this prodigious event,” said Paul Craig, Co-Founder of XX2i Optics and R.A.C.E. “I’ve committed a large scope of XX2i Optics to work with athletes at a level like this, where they’re transcending the realm of what’s thought possible.”
“RAAM is excited to partner with such an extraordinary brand as XX2i Optics. With a race as demanding as RAAM, high quality eyewear is critical for the racers,” said Rick Boethling, RAAM Executive Director. “Racers will experience all types of weather, from scalding desert heat to pouring rain, and they will race day and night. Adaptable eyewear is invaluable! The fact that XX2i Optics provides frames with multiple lens options gives riders the flexibility they need during the race. And, let’s not forget the frames are stylish - everyone wants to look great when racing!”
The main event begins in Oceanside, California, travels 3,000 miles with 170,000 vertical feet of climbing, and finishes in Annapolis, Maryland. Competitors can enter the race solo, or on 2-, 4- and 8-Person relay teams. Many racers also raise money for charitable causes, collectively leading to more than $2 million donated annually.
XX2i Optics was created to offer unparalleled value and sunglass technology at an affordable price to elite athletes and weekend warriors alike, making it the ideal sunglass for Race Across America participants. These racers come from all over the world and are mostly ordinary people with an extraordinary passion for riding their bicycle.
